More About Me
When I’m not in the studio surrounded by glass scraps, patterns, and coffee mugs, I’m usually spending time with my husband, Phil, and our two mini dachshunds, Bentley and Tanner. And when I need a break from all the boys, you’ll probably find me checking out a new coffee spot or treasure hunting for something sparkly with my BFF/sister, Jenna.
I’ve always been drawn to creating. Art was my favorite subject growing up, and I was constantly working on little projects - always making something with my hands. After high school, I studied graphic design, then moved into web development and landed my first “real” job as a web designer. Over time, I leaned more into the tech side of things, but I never stopped looking for ways to stay creatively connected.
Somewhere along the way, I picked up photography (even shot a few weddings!), and now stained glass has given me a whole new outlet to tap into that skill. I love playing with how I photograph each piece - experimenting with angles, lighting, and reflections to really capture the sparkle and depth that make glass so magical. It’s a creative challenge I enjoy almost as much as making the work itself.
When I finally put down the glass tools and camera, Phil and I love hitting the road - especially in the fall. There’s nothing better than a winding drive through changing leaves with snacks, a cozy playlist, and nowhere urgent to be. We’ve road-tripped through 49 states together (just missing Hawaii!) and so much of my inspiration comes from those slow, scenic drives - exploring small towns, popping into local shops, and taking in all the color and light along the way. I’m always on the lookout for a beautiful sunrise or sunset!
These days, instead of long multi-state trips, we’ve been spending most of our weekends up north in Minnesota, where we recently set up a little camper near my family. Naturally, the first thing I did was design a stained glass insert for the fireplace - it felt like the perfect way to make it ours. It’s become our favorite escape: quiet mornings, campfires, great bbq - and best of all, our dogs get to come too.
I’m so grateful to be doing something I love and to share it with others. Thanks for being here - I’m really glad our paths crossed!
